Clearing the music for the Cannes Lions Award-winning viral video by BMW

Spark researched and cleared the music for BMW Motorcycle’s internet-only film “BMW S1000 RR. Dinner for RR”, which became an award-winning YouTube sensation.

The film aimed at promoting the BMW S1000 RR motorbike to bikers beyond the BMW fan community: “From 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in just 2.9 seconds sounds very nice. But would that help in our XXXL experiment?” The music is essential to the overall feel of the film.

The spot has become a YouTube sensation with over 5 million views so far: the community is debating whether it’s real or fake and even a spoof version has been created…by replacing the motorcycle with a Vespa.

The spot won a Cannes Lions Bronze Award at the 57th International Advertising Festival in Cannes / Côte d’Azur.
