Spark Marketing Entertainment Ltd and Guinness World Records Ltd have signed an agreement for Spark to pursue brand licensing opportunities in regards to the "Book of British Hit Singles & Albums" brand.
Spark Marketing Entertainment is pro-actively seeking brand licensing opportunities for the well established book brand “Book of British Hit Singles & Albums”.
The Book Brand:
The first edition of the Book of British Hit Singles appeared in 1977. Two English chart watchers (Tim Rice and Jo Rice) and one American chart fanatic (Paul Gambaccini, who has since then become famous as a TV and BBC radio presenter) had the brilliant idea to fill a gap in the reference book market by compiling pop music's equivalent of cricket's Wisden Almanac. The current book, still published by Guinness World Records is the 19th Edition, and now combines both charts as the “Book of British Hit Singles & Albums”.
With 2,500,000 books sold it has become the biggest selling music reference book in the world. The book’s official website: www.bibleofpop.com
The book is published in association with the Official UK Charts Company.
The association’s first results are a “Book of British Hit Singles & Albums” branded 10 CD compilation series in June 2006, and a ‘365 day block’ 2007 calendar which will be released in September 2006.
Spark Marketing Entertainment’s head of the UK Matthias Bauss says: “It is an absolute pleasure working with such a renowned and established brand. There are many different opportunities we are currently looking at which potentially will lead to further growth of the brand and commercially interesting possibilities for licensees.”
